| | | What
is The Spine Center? | The
Spine Center at Riverhills offers comprehensive treatment for the patient with
back and neck problems, from diagnosis, conservative treatment, including newer
surgical spine reconstruction techniques through rehabilitation. The
key to successful treatment is proper diagnosis. Our Physical Therapy and Disc
Decompression services often eliminate the need for invasive surgery, but if surgery
is determined to be the right course of action, our surgeons have extensive experience
in surgical treatment and reconstruction of the spine. | | There
is no other facility in the area that provides all phases of the diagnostic and
treatment modalities necessary for the complete treatment of the patient with
spine problems. | | | | |

| | |
In order to determine the best treatment option for you, you will need to have
a proper and thorough diagnosis. The physicians at Riverhills provide clinical
excellence to each and every patient to ensure the most accurate diagnosis possible.
Each of our Spine Center surgeons is board certified and all have extensive
experience in the treatment of numerous, complex conditions. The Spine
Center is supported by 17 staff neurologists who also have extensive experience
in the diagnosis and treatment of many conditions. The support staff
at Riverhills include nurse practitioners, RNs and Registered Medical Assistants
who are among the most experienced in the region. |

Decompression | |

Many times our physicians
may determine that surgery is not an appropriate option for a patient. However,
patients who suffer from lower back pain, neck pain, spinal stenosis, herniated
disc, or show symptoms of sciatica frequently need treatment to ensure they are
well again and can increase their quality of life. Disc Decompression
is a non-invasive, conservative treatment offered by Dr. Ron Fudala, a Board Certified
Chiropractic
Neurologist, and his support staff, that is proven effective to correct underlying
problems, not just remove the symptoms. Patient
may require a number of visits or sessions and may require additional mobilization
and strengthening exercises, which can be provided through our Physical
Therapy department. | | | |

Therapy | |
| | | Physical
Therapy is the use of exercises, modalities, and manual techniques to help develop,
restore, and/or maintain appropriate strength of tissues and alignment of body
parts; thereby allowing people to move correctly and with less pain. Physical
Therapy looks not only at the affected body part but how that disability impacts
the rest of the person's life and functional activity. Treatment of neurological
conditions is typically based upon exercises to restore motor function through
attempting to overcome motor deficits and improve motor patterns. Physical
Therapy is sometimes used to treat a patient instead of surgery or as part of
a patient's post surgery rehabilitation. |

Management | |
| | |
Interventional pain medicine utilizes a multidisciplinary approach, the goals
of which is to relieve, reduce, or manage pain and improve a patient's overall
quality of life through minimally invasive techniques specifically designed to
diagnose and treat painful conditions. Interventional pain management
also strives to help patients return to their everyday activities quickly and
without heavy reliance on medications.
Some
of the more commonly treated conditions include postsurgical procedures, malignancy,
trauma, ongoing low back, neck and shoulder pain, stroke and major systemic disease,
such as diabetes, muscle and/or bone pain, and ongoing head, neck and mouth and
face pain | | | |
